The compilation presents ten original works by Danish Eurorack artists, all created under the same set of constraints: one oscillator, one take, and no DAW post-processing.

By limiting each artist to a single sound source, the project focuses attention on modulation, routing, timing, performance, and the creative possibilities that emerge from working within defined boundaries. The resulting collection demonstrates a remarkable diversity of approaches, revealing ten distinct artistic voices from a shared point of departure.

Én stemme follows the label’s 2025 field-recording compilation Dansk Lyd 1 and continues Vicious Records’ interest in documenting contemporary Danish sound practices through curated thematic releases.

We are also pleased that the release has been featured by the Japanese modular synthesizer publication Patching for Anything, whose coverage highlights the project’s concept and its exploration of creativity through limitation.

Copenhagen experimental artist Nikoline announces 
Burnt Out Organic Matter
Out on Bandcamp, Friday 5th of June.

We are thrilled to announce a collaborative release with the Copenhagen label, Virkelighedsfjern.

A raw, improvised journey through change, identity, grief, and ecstatic release. Recorded in the now-demolished Siggurds Gade buildings in Nørrebro, the album blends distorted industrial textures, relentless drum machines, and emotional intensity into a chaotic yet reflective listen.

Created during a turbulent period in 2025, the record explores struggles with IT, gender identity, and mental health alongside moments of humor and joy. Closing track το τραγωγία της γυνάκης που κλαίει (“The Song of the Weeping Woman”), made with Aspasia Balta, samples Greek dirges to mourn what’s been lost while embracing new beginnings.

Nikoline has been an active force in the Danish underground for over a decade through projects including Naturale, GAIA, Måneskjold and Lucid Grave, while also running Virkelighedsfjern since 2016.

Vicious Records returns with a new focused exploration of sound.

Following last year’s Field Recording compilation, Dansk Lyd 1, Vicious now turns its attention toward the Danish Eurorack scene and the modular systems shaping its sonic identity.

The result is Én stemme, a conceptual compilation built around a strict and deliberate constraint:
one oscillator, one take, one voice.

By reducing the starting point to a single sound source, the project opens up a space where modulation, structure, and performance become the defining forces. The aim is not limitation for its own sake, but clarity. A shared framework through which individual approaches can emerge in radically different directions.

Én stemme documents a cross-section of Danish modular practice at a specific moment in time, where hardware, performance, and chance intersect in real time..

The work examines perceptual thresholds between identifiable sound objects and their gradual dissolution into granular and spectral states. A sustained low-frequency presence acts as a structural ground throughout the 20 minute duration, evolving in slow, continuous motion. From this foundation, subtle undercurrents emerge—at times coalescing into discernible electronic figures, at others receding into diffuse textures. Tracing a shifting field of attention between form and formlessness.

Employing Eurorack modular synthesis in conjunction with spectral manipulation techniques, the piece unfolds as a study in depth, decay, and sonic ambiguity, where processes of emergence and erosion remain in constant tension.

This release marks the first work issued under the artist’s own name, outlining a trajectory for ongoing research and practice in electronic music.

Josephine – Unexplained (EP) will be out on Bandcamp and streaming services, Friday 17th of April.

Copenhagen-based ensemble Josephine emerges with a distinctive fusion of ambient dubstep and drum’n’bass, combining electronic production with live instrumentation to create a dark, immersive sonic identity. The trio consists of producer Josephine, drummer Sammy Soul and bassist Yasin Saif.

Drawing inspiration from UK bass culture, Josephine’s sound is defined by atmospheric textures, heavy low-end, and a strong sense of rhythmic tension. Their music evokes an urban, dystopian landscape, while their live performances translate this aesthetic into a dynamic and emotionally charged experience—balancing mood, intensity, and precision.Josephine will make their debut on Vicious Records with the EP Unexplained. The release marks the beginning of a larger body of work, with two additional EPs scheduled to follow, culminating in a full-length album.

THE PLANT aka Jonas Sjøsted, is among other things known as one half of the experimental project The Plant X Izumisan Ensemble. Here, The Plant returns with his own and deeply personal release exploring repetition, tension, and atmosphere.

On this new EP, The Plant focuses on the repetition of slightly unnerving, hypnotic patterns, drawing new inspiration from genres such as Deathdream and Vapordrone. These elements merge with his long-standing foundations in drone and dark ambient, with subtle traces of dub techno and experimental industrial.

THE PLANT

Influenced by artists such as Sunn O))), Atrium Carceri, and 아버지, the EP continues the artist’s exploration of immersive sonic spaces while pushing his sound into new psychological territory.

Centered around the theme of Liminal Space, the release reflects on the transience of continual growth and the artist’s personal experience of being human. Incorporating his current inspirations and state of mind into the sound he has spent over 20 years developing, the result is both intimate and precise.

At times private, even excluding, yet highly refined and focused, the EP feels like a snapshot of a moment in time, capturing The Plant’s present thoughts on being alive and his movement through life.
