A new EP, Liminal State by The Plant arrives on Friday the 13th of March on Bandcamp.
THE PLANT aka Jonas Sjøsted, is among other things known as one half of the experimental project The Plant X Izumisan Ensemble. Here, The Plant returns with his own and deeply personal release exploring repetition, tension, and atmosphere.
On this new EP, The Plant focuses on the repetition of slightly unnerving, hypnotic patterns, drawing new inspiration from genres such as Deathdream and Vapordrone. These elements merge with his long-standing foundations in drone and dark ambient, with subtle traces of dub techno and experimental industrial.

Influenced by artists such as Sunn O))), Atrium Carceri, and 아버지, the EP continues the artist’s exploration of immersive sonic spaces while pushing his sound into new psychological territory.
Centered around the theme of Liminal Space, the release reflects on the transience of continual growth and the artist’s personal experience of being human. Incorporating his current inspirations and state of mind into the sound he has spent over 20 years developing, the result is both intimate and precise.
At times private, even excluding, yet highly refined and focused, the EP feels like a snapshot of a moment in time, capturing The Plant’s present thoughts on being alive and his movement through life.
